SMS Logistics ensures that any product, ordered anywhere in the world, arrives at our customers in time, in perfect condition, with the lowest possible impact on the environment and in compliance with all international laws and regulations – at the lowest possible cost for Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions (SMM).

In Santrade Ltd. Switzerland, we perform financial and controlling activities for the total SMS Logistics organization. We are now looking for a qualified Customs Pricing Controller and VAT Specialist for the SMS operation, located in Lucerne, Switzerland or alternatively a flexible location with frequent travelling to Switzerland.

Your mission


In your customs pricing role (50 %), your main goal is to ensure that customs pricing is compliant and optimized. You are responsible for operational customs pricing calculations within SMS. To be successful in this role, you continuously follow up and control our transfer pricing impacts on customs duties. You support the defined customs pricing tools and system development projects. You execute investigations and analyses to ensure compliance from a customs pricing perspective. You analyze transfer prices from a customs perspective identifying and closing gaps related to threats and opportunities.

In your role as VAT specialist (50 %), you act as the single point of contact within SMS for all VAT related activities of goods/services flows cross country borders. You are responsible for the implementation of new VAT legal requirements within SMS to ensure VAT compliance.

In addition, you support preparing, validating and submitting required VAT returns and statistics reporting for SMS Logistics (focus European distribution center flows). You also support any documentation and responses including VAT audits as may be required by tax authorities (focus European distribution center flows).

You will work closely with SMS Trade Compliance to ensure compliance and optimization from a customs pricing perspective. In the VAT area, you work closely with operations to ensure VAT compliance.

In this position, you report directly to the Transfer Pricing, Customs Pricing and VAT Manager.

Your profile


We are looking for a qualified controller with a university degree or equivalent with at least five years of relevant business experience in a global environment. A prerequisite for this position is that you have VAT experience (especially cross-country borders VAT). Experience working in the customs pricing field is an advantage but not mandatory.
