Education Level:


● Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline required

Job Experience:


● A minimum of two (2+) years’ experience in electrical or electro-mechanical design needed

Skills/Special Training Required to Effectively Perform the Job:


Hands-on experience with development and design of high voltage or power electronics
● Strong knowledge of electrical & electronic design principles
● Experienced in 3D CAD systems (NX or Solidworks) and electrical design software (Zuken E3 or Solidworks Electrical)
● Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including HV battery management systems preferred
● Experience in analysis, testing, troubleshooting, diagnostics and root cause analysis of electro-mechanical systems
● Basic power electronics circuit design and analysis preferred
● Basic knowledge of EMI & EMC mitigation beneficial
● Ability to read, analyze and create schematics as well as electrical engineering drawings
● Proficient in the use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeter, Hi-pot testers etc.
● Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and related software

Responsibilities:

● Support development of High Voltage (HV) systems and/or subsystems for electric
vehicles, batteries, battery chargers and test equipment
● Troubleshoot electrical systems, perform root cause analyses & find solutions incl. writing detailed documentation about these efforts
● Implement and validate changes to electro-mechanical designs resulting from troubleshooting efforts
● Design, prepare, set up and complete test procedures incl. documentation
● Create test and troubleshooting procedures for production and field support teams
● Coordinate build and testing of prototypes for electric vehicles, batteries, battery chargers and test equipment
● Create schematics and HV cable/assembly drawings
● Work as a member of an integrated, interdisciplinary product team to examine, discuss, and develop solutions to difficult/complex issues with both internal and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, internal management, etc.)
● Ensure that designs and documentation of components and systems meet specified technical customer demands, product safety, legislative requirements and internal demands
● Contribute to overall profitability related to component design and continuous improvements on new and existing products
● Perform other related duties as assigned by Management
