Documentation Specialist

The Documentation Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the documentation process from BOM (Bill of Materials) to publisher hand off. You will work closely with our Engineering and Service team to design, draft, and edit product manuals. In this role you will gather information from different sources and analyze it for accuracy and completeness.

What you will be doing

  • Coordinating with the Engineering and Production teams to work towards timely delivery of manuals.

  • Developing and improving documentation according to established company and departmental standards.

  • Researching, planning, and editing Sandvik’s Parts, Operator’s, Maintenance, and Service/Repair Manuals.

  • Collaborating with Product Specialists to improve the focus of technical documentation.

  • Developing layouts/graphics from SolidWorks for use in documentation

Environmental Health and Safety

What you will bring along

  • A degree in Records and Information Management, or a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in document control, preferably supporting engineering projects.

  • Knowledge of document and information management strategies, standards, policies, systems, and best practices, including records, information, and content management, to manage the development and delivery of a document and information management program.

  • The ability to read and understand technical documentation.

  • Strong computer knowledge in EDMS, particularly in Microsoft SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of engineering software is considered an asset.

  • An ability to prioritize your work and meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to travel internationally occasionally for training when required
