SMC Logistics manages 23 warehouses across 13 countries. In 2018, turnover of SMC Logistics was €1.2 billion. SMC Logistics would like to recruit a Control Tower officer on a fix term basis.

Job Summary

The Role

Job Description: Control Tower Officer - (P2) 12 Month Contract .

Job Purpose

The position requires the successful candidate to be familiar with all modes of transport (Air Sea and Road) .The successful candidate will be familiar with daily load planning procedures for shipping company's products safely to specific locations worldwide. In addition the successful; candidate will arrange and conduct regular supplier meetings to monitor carrier SLA performance , noting errors , and the implementation of remedial action where required. Duties will also include daily maintenance of the current transport manage system ensuring all metrics are met .The successful candidate will be responsible for performing in-house AP activities and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders to resolve AP queries in addition this will include working with the Dublin Control Tower in delivering services as required. This role will be multi-functional with AP Payable and operational responsibilities.

  • Responsibilities
  • To enable the successful shipping of goods ex assigned location to all areas within the assigned region
  • To conduct weekly supplier meetings ensuring all KPIs are monitored and ensuring appropriate action where they are not.
  • Providing assistance in relation to all shipping matter to all customers internal and external.
  • To work closely with colleagues ensuring that team objectives are met
  • Providing flexible cover for colleagues in their absence .
  • Work in accordance with agreed personal KPIs

Your profile

  • Min 2 years relevant work experience with specific experience in the area of logistics management and of Freight Forwarding sector.
  • Training experience is an asset.
  • Min 2 years relevant professional education (e.g. College diploma)

Location: Dublin, Ireland
