When entering this exciting new role, you’re part of a whole new team that´s ready to develop, plan and implement a brand and communication strategy for SMF from the beginning. By using your previous experience, you create a communication concept from the very ground where compelling content in forms of storytelling, copywriting, images, films, and visuals aim at attracting relevant stakeholders and build the brand consistently. You’re the one sketching out the content and PR plan, interacting with agencies and continuously developing it to reflect our values and DNA.

You provide guidance and strategic advice to manage SMF’s portfolio of brands where acquisitions are a natural part of Sandvik’s’ growth agenda. Together with colleagues from the Sandvik Group, you create frameworks and guidelines where our brands can operate and grasp the advantage of being part of a bigger Group. Striving for operational excellence and good ROI, you ensure a strong brand reputation where you consider the business needs and how the communication contributes to the bigger objectives.
You take part in developing the way of working with communications within SMF and you have a great opportunity to shape your own role. You report to the Vice President and Head of Communication at SMF. This position allows for work in either Sandviken or Stockholm. Some flexibility is required to support our global organization within its different time zones.
In this new team, we’re particularly looking for team players – people who enjoy collaboration and achieving great results with others - who still have the drive to work independently and take own initiatives. You navigate well in the organization and collaborate across both the Business Area Segment, Divisions and our Business Units. Together we keep our ears to the ground and ensure we stay up to date with the latest trends in communication.
We’re looking for someone with a degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent. You have several years' experience in strategic and operative branding and content management in international B2B organizations. You understand the basics of SEO techniques, and you know your way in digital tools – particularly regarding layout, images, and film editing. You’re a safe user of PowerPoint and Microsoft 365. Working in a global environment calls for fluency in verbal and written English where Swedish is also an advantage.
Together with all the things mentioned above, we appreciate your soft skills characterized by your curious and humble approach, in combination with your ability to map out our stakeholders and set strategies for how we best reach each target group through engaging content while at the same time handling complex brand topics. Having the skills to analyze various target groups and adapt the messages, you also show a profound sense of understanding stakeholder needs. And as an efficient communicator, you build genuine networks and embrace the organizations all parts, absorbing relevant information that you use to produce interesting and timely content.
