The Business Development department within Design & Planning Automation is tasked with identifying, exploring and developing business opportunities. This includes activities in the areas of Market Analysis, Business Projects, Communication, Strategy and M&A. We are now looking for someone with strong leadership potential and business acumen to take on the role as CBDO / Head of Business Development and to lead a highly skilled team of professionals across these different disciplines.

In this position, you report directly to President of Design & Planning Automation and are a valued member of the division’s management team. As this role is truly global, travel is a key part of your job. Location is therefore flexible, but there will be a need to be present at our new office site in Stockholm – a place for mixing tech innovation with the core of machining.

Your mission
Acting in close collaboration with Head of Business Development & Strategy for Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions, you take lead in developing and implementing our business development agenda in alignment with the organization's overall vision. You identify, explore and develop new business opportunities with the objective of positioning the company competitively in the market. Generating data for improved business insights and directing the planning and preparation of business proposals to recommend to senior management are important parts of your mission. So is continuously scanning market and technology trends that can influence our business. Monitoring trends and taking responsibility for market outlook within selected areas enables us to stay one step ahead.

You oversee the development of key projects and ensure successful closure of business deals. You bring focus on growth through M&A, and you’re committed from preparation to integration. Negotiations, contacts with authorities and other relevant parties, as well as acquisition agreements are all included in your area of responsibility.

Further, you’re accountable for developing processes, way of working and the organization, and you lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of managers and professionals to achieve established business development goals. Your character
For this position, we’re looking for a talented leader with a background in software business, combined with solid understanding of the applications and production technology in the machining industry. You have experience from leading teams of experts in a decentralized setting, are used to interact with C-suite stakeholders and recognize the benefits of acting in an ecosystem. You’re commercially skilled and experienced in strategy development and implementation, as well as in change management. A relevant business degree or equivalent work experience is also expected.

Business acumen and thoroughness is in your nature, and we truly value your analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
