For Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, we’re now looking for an enthusiastic and empowering leader to join us as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. You’ll lead our overall business area strategy, M&A agenda, as well as our CRM and customer teams of about 16 people, as we manage sound industry analysis and successful strategy development. We have an exciting business, delivering cutting edge products and solutions to our mining and construction customers across the globe, and solving the ever-increasing safety, productivity and profitability challenges of the market. In 2019, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology had around 14 000 employees within nine different divisions and a total revenue of 45 billion SEK. In this key role, you’re responsible for our divisional strategies and for shaping development plans and driving deployment of strategic initiatives, projects and M&As throughout our entire organization. You do this by supporting us with reliable business intelligence and benchmarking - preparing business plans, board presentations, reports, budgets and forecasts, and you make sure we have the best possible foundation for achieving great results. You lead our M&A agenda and set the direction for how Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology works with our global customers and take leverage from our advanced CRM system. Your input is gathered by active collaboration across our business, and you frequently keep one ear to ground by traveling to our different divisions and sales areas. You also perform industry analysis to ensure valuable information on trends and movements that may affect our business.
By building bridges that span across the entire Sandvik Group as well as with external partners, you manage our stakeholders and the many different interfaces that comes with your mission. Working with and through our divisions with a consultative approach is a truly important part of your job. You provide a confident, inspiring and supportive leadership to our organization, and your experience and knowledge drives success in our focus areas of key account management, sales and M&As. To keep marketing and key account management closely linked together, your future scope will also include a marketing team and the responsibility of cross divisional marketing strategies and activities.
You’re a significant sounding board and report directly to the President of Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology, and you’re also a valued member of our management team. The location for this position is at our headquarters in Stockholm and international travel is included.
Your background and character
For this mission, we need someone with a background in management consulting, combined with a couple of years’ experience from a corporate business setting. You’re skilled in business analysis, M&As, transactions and due diligence, and it’s beneficial if you’re familiar with sales and commodity cycles. An understanding of the mining and construction industry is highly valuable, and you’re eager to learn about our market and the opportunities and challenges we’re facing. We operate worldwide, and this calls for an open mind and cultural awareness – you’re used to initiating and executing strategic initiatives cross both functions and borders and you need excellent communication skills in English.
You have a tactical, organized and entrepreneurial mindset, and you’re a confident and proactive decision-maker. By considering options and spotting opportunities, you both challenge us and make things happen, and you enjoy being the architect behind our strategic agenda. Collaboration and stakeholder management are top priorities for you, and your agile, responsive and inspiring approach and your commitment to the mission creates engagement across the entire organization.
