Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Parts & Services is the Division in Sandvik, that supports the global fleet of mining and construction equipment. The Fleet Applications team manages the suite of Fleet Products, most predominantly Fleet Analytics. The insights we provide on our fleet enable our users to understand the customers base, the fleet, and the commercial opportunities out there.

We are now recruiting for a Senior BI Developer (Hybrid/Remote). Please see list of available locations detailed below.

JOB PURPOSE

The Parts & Services Division in Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions has a unique opportunity for a Senior BI Developer to join our Fleet Applications team.

You will join a team of front-end and back-end developers, where you will develop and design interactive reports and dashboards that provide actionable business insights. You will work closely with the team and stakeholders to understand business requirements, transforming complex data into easy-to-understand visuals that empower decision-makers across the organization. In this role you will also occasionally support the Commercial Excellence team by modelling data and creating reports to address different commercial use-cases to sales users or to (executive) leadership.
We are looking for a team player who enjoys engaging with the team and the stakeholders around the business and takes responsibility for their deliverables.

Main responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy visually appealing and relevant Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements and KPIs.

  • Create and optimize complex data models, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and structured for analysis, keeping up with the industry best practices.

  • Design, develop, support and deliver solutions in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand KPIs, and translate business needs into technical solutions.

  • Periodically support colleagues with ad-hoc analyses

  • Document development processes and provide training and support to end-users as needed.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest best practices, features and industry trends, and continuously improve reporting capabilities and user experience.

  • Other adhoc duties as requested by management.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology - or equivalent work experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing and implementing solutions using Power BI - advanced knowledge of Power BI, including Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Online Service.

  • Proven experience in data analysis, data - modelling, and a solid understanding of modern data architecture methods, especially cloud-based and those that support large data sets.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure and Databricks is desirable.

  • Coding skills in relevant languages for Microsoft Azure environment (e.g. SQL, Python)

  • Experience in Microsoft Power Apps development. Power Automate is considered a plus.

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within a DevOps environment, with expertise in implementing and adhering to structured Git workflows.

  • Knowledge of UX/UI best-practices for report and dashboard development.

  • Power BI certification or other relevant BI or database certifications are a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills with both business and technical teams.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to handle multiple activities at the same time and set priorities.
