System Administrator, Siemens Teamcenter Active Workspace

Sandvik SMR IT Supply is Business Area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ (SMR) internal organization responsible for applications, databases, cloud services and in management of IT Supply both in terms of our internal IT production, external suppliers, and managed services.

SMR IT, Delivery area R&D is a group of global experts working closely together with Sandvik Business Areas in their PLM programs and R&D Related IT Solutions. Our largest service Teamcenter PLM is an important, widely used, and growing application area for SMR.

To answer the increasing needs, we are now looking for a new team member in our Operations team. The position is permanent, full-time, and located in Tampere (Finland), Turku (Finland), Stockholm (Sweden), Bangalore (India) or Pune (India).

Your role

  • Configuration, installation, maintenance, and key user support of Teamcenter Active Workspace at server and client level, including production, test and development environments.

  • Developing and programming Teamcenter Active Workspace.

  • Plan, deploy and launch server and client software updates and upgrades with project teams.

  • Perform ongoing Active Workspace release management.

  • Coordinate with Colleagues, Database Administrators, Information Technology (IT) Operations, Customers and Software Vendors to plan releases, schedule, and coordinate outages for Teamcenter Active Workspace deployment.

  • Incident management

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis, debug recurring problems with Teamcenter Active Workspace and utilize programming skills to prevent the recurrence of these problems.

  • Improve existing IT solutions by reviewing, developing, and implementing new solutions.

  • Responsible for creating and managing the standard operating procedures for Teamcenter Active Workspace.

  • Author, review and maintain system documentation and assist with user training.

Your background

  • You have had exposure to real time customer environments, in installation, maintenance, administration and configuration of Teamcenter Active Workspace.

  • As a successful candidate you should have strong experience of Teamcenter Active Workspace customization.

  • You have a suitable degree in a related field e.g. in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Your background is in IT, Engineering or Manufacturing environments and minimum of 3 years’ experience in system administration.

  • Experience in Teamcenter PLM environments, Tcl and Java programming languages are needed.

  • Experience of programming JSON is an advantage.

  • You are used to responding to shifting priorities in a fast-paced and changing IT landscape.

  • You are service minded with customer focus, experienced in planning and organizing your work.
    Your skills to coordinate and interact with team members and key stake holders are excellent.

  • Since our customers have businesses around the world fluency in English is mandatory.

  • You are proactive, self-motivated and one with lots of initiative, courage and integrity and a business-minded and result-oriented attitude.
