IIOT/Edge Data Platform Architect

Seco Tools is growing rapidly, and we’re now looking for a driven and experienced IIOT/Edge Data Platform Architect who would be our technical subject matter expert of the creation of IT solution within the organization.

Your mission

In this role, you will ensure the translation of business requirements into IT solutions to be implemented. Adding on to that, you will be entrusted to provide technical guidance in the design & implementation of IT solutions in support of business needs & strategy.

Your key responsibilities

  • Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints to meet user/customer expectations & achieve business objectives aligned with agreed strategy and standards.

  • Technology advisory embracing modern architectural paradigms to maximize architectural agility. Understand technology alternatives and when to apply.

  • Leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies.

  • Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products and services.

  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product.

  • Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.

  • Document solution architecture design/blueprint and analysis work.

  • Present pros/cons with different architectural alternatives.

  • Collaborates with IT for security and architecture. Collaborates with Operations Processes & Systems for business needs.

About you

Fundamental Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT , Computer Engineering or Manufacturing

  • Highly skilled in IT/IIoT/OT equipment, architecture and engineering.

  • Additional knowledge of solutions such as OsiSoft or Microsoft Azure, as well as knowledge of Lean, Industry 4.0 or certificates within Solution Architecture.

  • Further knowledge of communication protocols for obtaining data from machine tool controllers or machining in general, including modern CNC control systems are important skills

  • Experience from IT/OT in a manufacturing industry, where your understanding of factory operations, such as production planning, execution and automation, are important factors for success.

  • Leading transformation projects or program management in a global business is part of your track record..

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

  • Engineering and software architecture design.

  • Fundamental data security, operating systems & database management. NIST and ZERO TRUST

  • Infrastructure, Web platforms & cloud development.

  • Computer hardware and software knowledge as below

  • Experience of machine protocols (e.g. MTConnect, OPC-UA, and Modbus)

  • Experience working with SCADA , IIoT , MES , Digital Twin, PLM , ERP and CRM

  • Experience with sensors and gateways

  • knowledge of OCI Model, Front-end: .Net

  • Experience of machine protocols: MTConnect, OPC-UA, Modbus, OPCUA, and IEC 61850

  • Knowlage about Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Event Grid, IoT Edge, Data Lake, IoT Hub, Azure Function, API Management)

  • Knowlage about Data bases: Data ingestion, SQL, Azure Data Lake

  • Knowledge about wired and wireless Networking

  • Knowledge of coding languages
