Sandvik - Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, FL is looking for a Human Resources Director

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a business area within the Sandvik Group, and we are a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The Rotary Drilling Division of SMR makes blasthole drill rigs for production drilling in open pit mines. The Division’s headquarters is located in Alachua, Florida.

Key performance areas

As the Human Resources Director, you will be a member of the Rotary Drilling Division management team as well as have responsibility for the HR function in the Alachua business unit in Florida. You will also be responsible for providing strategic HR support, for the hosted Sales Area(s).

Your primary areas of focus will be to lead the Business Unit and Sales Area in developing strategic, key performance objectives; leading efforts to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace; driving organizational excellence, digitalization and efficiencies. In this role, you will be a leading influencer to secure that Sandvik Rotary Drilling remains a great place to work.

Additional Responsibilities

  • As the Human Resources Director, you will be a member of the Rotary Drilling Division management team as well as have responsibility for the HR function in the Alachua business unit in Florida. You will also be responsible for providing strategic HR support, for the hosted Sales Area(s).
  • Your primary areas of focus will be to lead the Business Unit and Sales Area in developing key, strategic performance objectives; leading efforts to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace, driving organizational excellence, digitalization and efficiencies. In this role, you will be a leading influencer to secure that Sandvik Rotary Drilling remains a great place to work.
  • The Director – Human Resources will participate in developing relevant performance metrics to monitor results and guide corrections and improvements as necessary.

  • Be a trusted collaborator on the Management Team possessing a strong understanding of business development and strategic organization design as well as with performance management, talent development and succession planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Some domestic and international travel to our hosted Sales Area as well as to global meetings is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management or related course of study, or equivalent in professional HR work experience.
  • SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP or other recognized HR certification is preferred.
  • Experience managing others with strategic goal setting and performance monitoring and management.
  • Prior HR Management experience in an advanced level where you have demonstrated people and organizational development.
  • Prior understanding of the Sandvik SMR organization is an added benefit.
  • Must be able to legally work in the US
