Aerospace Projects Engineer (PEMS)

CAM and Application Engineer will work on assignments to deliver to our customers competitive engineered solutions as part of projects through industry leading manufacturing processes which will lower the customer’s total cost and secure sustainable aftermarket sales growth. He/she will apply tools, techniques, methods, and processes from standardized and/or optimized processing methods into CAM programs. The position will involve working across multifunctional teams to support sales growth.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce CAM programs as needed to support customer projects, training, and testing

  • Support technical activities in the Aerospace Center (located in Mebane NC)

  • Take lead, manage and/or support customer projects

  • Participate in pre-sales activities to include analyzing customer’s technical needs and feasibility of projects.

  • Participate post-sales activities to include resolving implementation problems and support training at center or at customer site

  • Explore, identify, and develop new application areas as well as developing existing areas.

  • Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve technical problems that arise during and/or after project implementation.

  • Develops test applications used for in-house testing, including customer-specific components and representative features/components

  • Participates in customer/component mapping and GAP analysis

  • Actively support best practice sharing and network efficiency related to our resources to include application, processing, machining and CAM solutions

  • Maintain direct contact with sales, customers and strategic relations as necessary to ensure effective levels of communication

  • Provide customers with documentation such as CAM cycle times, source code, simulations, etc.

COMPETENCIES

  • CAM (Mastercam/Siemens/Catia or Other systems will be considered)

  • High level of CAD/CAM to include multi-axis machining

  • Advanced application knowledge and experience in metal cutting within the aerospace industry on key aerospace components.

  • Knowledgeable of Machine tools/Machine controllers- Siemens 840D, Mazatrol, Okuma OSP, FANUC and others will be an added value

  • Effective communicator and networker

  • Cross boarder project management

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills of basic manufacturing processes.

  • Good Level of English required. A second language will be added value (Spanish/French).

LOCATION:

Flexible location within Canada, USA or Mexico.
