Your Mission

We are currently looking for an Engine Service Specialist in SEA.

The Engine Service Specialist is responsible for leading engine services within Sales Area South East Asia, developing capability and implement strategies to improve engine maintenance/repair/rebuild/diagnostic practices.

This role is a full-time role, based in Malaysia and travelling within the region is part of the role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with engine manufacturer & dealer to resolve warranty, technical and other commercial issues within stipulate time frame.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance engine and engine related components life, reduce unplanned downtime, and control/reduce owning & operating cost for customers through extended component life.

  • Conduct fault diagnosis and failure analysis. Develop recovery and preventative measures to prevent future failures.

  • Inventory forecasting and management for engines for installed base.

  • Plan for strategic parts stocking for new models.

  • Conduct regular site audits, reviews on workshop capability and capacity related to engine repair and rebuild (engine teardown and works-scopes, implement and evaluate performance metrics)

  • Lead competency development for local service and maintenance teams to develop engine service expertise in the region. Conduct training for engines, arrange for OEM training, facilitate best practice sharing.

  • Lead warranty handlers in territories to resolve warrant cases (on all components not limited to Engine) within target timeframe, identify root cause of delayed handling and implement process improvement measures to achieve the target warranty handing days.

  • Develop & strengthen customer relationships to ensure positive customer experience and customer loyalty to the Sandvik brand.

  • Manage escalation process with internal & external stakeholders.

  • Support Parts Portfolio Manager as required.

  • Strong analytical skills with quality management experience preferred.

  • Able and willing to travel up to 50% of your time.

Your Profile

  • You hold a Diploma or bachelor's degree in Technical Discipline with minimum 10 years of hands on and leadership experience in handling Engine services.

  • Advanced knowledge on engine and capability of independent engine overhauling expertise is required.

  • Extensive working knowledge and expertise in the fundamentals of engine performance, maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Proficient in handling advance engine diagnostic tools.

  • Those with Volvo Penta Tire 4 and Tire 5 engine work experiences would be advantageous.

  • Good people management skills and ability to train people.

  • Should have been actively involved in the service operations in a complex service set-up and multi-cultural environment.

  • Experienced with engine inspections format/reporting/ engine condition reporting, parts and shortages listings, materials and inventory, c-checks, shop visits, including evaluating, and proposing rectification of any abnormal conditions found during disassembly and inspection of engines.
