Fatality: A work related incident that results in a fatality
LTI (Lost Time Injury): A work related incident that result in at least one days absence for the injured person.
RWI (Restricted Work Injury): A work related incident that result in at least one day where the injured person can not perform all of their normal work, but may be able to do alternative work.
MTI (Medical treatment Injury): A work related incident that result in the need of medical treatment before the injured person can return to all of their normal work.
TRIFR (Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate): Sum of all recordable injuries (Fatal + LTI + RWI + MTI) per million worked hours.
LTIFR (Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate): Sum of (Fatal + LTI) per million worked hours

HIV and AIDS prevention work
Since 2005 Sandvik has been working with programs to combat HIV and AIDS and other diseases among employees, their families and customers in the southern region of Africa.
Tube for urea production
Safurex™, a highly corrosion-resistant tube material, is specially developed for severe conditions in the urea production process. The material is designed to enable an oxygenless process that increases safety in urea plants.
